Still Green grew out of a small group of Milton Keynes Quakers who became interested in cohousing when considering how they might live well as they grew older. From its earliest days the group has welcomed non-Quaker members, of any faith or none, who now make up about half the membership. Echoes of Quaker values and practices appear in some of the ways we do things, but these do not require expression or justification in Quaker terms. The Milton Keynes Quaker Meeting is best understood as a sponsor of Still Green (and it continues to provide space for our meetings). But in all other ways Still Green has ‘left home’ and is making its own way in the world.
